California Teachers Association (CTA) held a conference in October to instruct teachers on how to undercut parents, conservatives, and school administrators on issues of sexual orientation and gender identity.
Documents and audio files from the conference workshops were recently leaked to Abigail Shrier, author of Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters, revealing malicious tactics to topple parentsâ rights and indoctrinate students. Members of CTA boasted of monitoring studentsâ Google searches and conversations among peers to target students and convince them to join LGBTQ clubs while hiding the club’s membership rolls from parents.
Workshops at the conference encouraged teachers to form LGBTQ clubs to help students âexplore sexual orientation,â but advised them to keep no records so they can plead ignorance with parents.
Conference attendees also recommended changing club names from “Gay Straight Alliance,” to things like “Equity Club” in order to mask the real objective of the meetings. Teachers have even gone so far as to tell students not to repeat anything that is said during the meetings.
They admitted that many schools and parents oppose the clubs and they have difficulty enticing and keeping members. One speaker told teachers that despite these obstacles, they should continue their efforts because âyouth are the drivers of change.â Some teachers have completely disregarded parental rights in order to further their harmful progressive agenda.Â
Parents have the right to know exactly what their children are being taught and to voice their opinion on the curriculum. Schools owe parents complete transparency, and it’s clear that isn’t happening.
Fortunately, we now know that students are being targeted to join LGBTQ clubs, but itâs very possible that there are further tactics we donât yet know about. “You have to ask yourself if teachers are willing to make these remarks in a broad address â a sold-out conference â what are they doing that we don’t know about?” noted Shrier, in a Fox News interview.
Like all other local government entities, public schools are run by public servants who are paid with tax-payer dollars and expected to complete their job honestly and transparently. If unethical practices are revealed, they should lose the support of the community. Further, if educators were teaching students to follow a certain religion, the media, administrators, and activists would be up in arms.
At the end of the day, parents have the right to decide what is best for their children, and that starts with knowing what is happening in schools.Â
Parental rights in public education are in danger, and teachers are actively working to strip those rights. The CTA teachers were not only unconcerned with what parents desired for their children, but planned ways to work around them.
As demonstrated by the information that was leaked, we must dig deeper into our students’ curriculums and refuse to blindly trust our educators. We cannot underestimate the amount of deception and manipulation that activist teachers are willing to partake in. We must have conversations with children about the boundaries their teachers should abide by and encourage them to speak up in the face of activist teaching.
Ultimately, our educators wield the power to significantly influence a generation and shape the way they view the world. Too many of them are abusing that power. Given this nefarious trend, parents must be diligent in overseeing their childâs education and must demand complete transparency from teachers.
