Planned Parenthood Closing Three California Abortion Facilities

Planned Parenthood is expected to close three facilities in Northern California in an effort to cut back on expenses as a result of dwindling financial resources. The Sacremento Bee reports that, “[l]ocations in Vacaville, Pittsburg and central Richmond will close June 30, according to Miriam Gerace, a spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood Northern California.”

Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider has been under fire for sometime now over it’s questionable and likely criminal business practices. It has especially faced a tremendous backlash from undercover investigative videos released by the Center for Medical Progress. The first video was released in July of 2015, and the latest was released this week, but was later taken down by YouTube at the order of Judge William Orrick. Orrick is the California district judge who granted the National Abortion Federation and Planned Parenthood’s request for a preliminary injunction to prevent the release of the video footage.

In the video, which can still be viewed here, Leslie Drummond, an abortionist from Planned Parenthood Mar Monte says, “I get a lot of oohs and ahhs from StemExpress [biotech firm]. You know, they’re wanting livers. . . . Last week I was in Sacramento, and she said, “I need four intact limbs.” And I said, you want what?

Live Action News notes these three abortion facilities “are the latest in a long line of Planned Parenthood facilities to close, following the recent shutdown of 10 facilities throughout Iowa, New Mexico, Wyoming, and Colorado.”

Wynette Sills celebrated the news of the closures of the three Northern California abortion facilities in a statement, saying, “now is the time, more than ever, to come together to end abortion in our state, where 1/5 of all US abortions occur.”

Of note is that as of May 29, 2017, Planned Parenthood has had 21 medical emergencies in which they had to call for for emergency help.
