Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California recently published their 2024 Legislative Scorecard, ranking lawmakers based on their support for extreme legislation that advances abortion, transgender interventions, and other so-called reproductive health services. These scores reveal a stark moral divide in California’s government, where Planned Parenthood pushes for greater access to abortion and gender transition procedures—practices fundamentally opposed by California Family Council (CFC) and its pro-life mission.
The Polarization in California’s Legislature
Most Republican lawmakers stood firm against Planned Parenthood’s abortion agenda, with several notable exceptions. Two Republican Assembly members, Juan Alanis (R-Modesto) and Greg Wallis (R-Rancho Mirage), earned perfect 100% scores, with Assemblywoman Laurie Davies (R-Laguna Niguel) and former Assemblywoman Marie Waldron (R-San Diego) being the only others to score as high as 75%.
On the other side, nearly every Democrat in California’s legislature aligned fully with Planned Parenthood’s vision, with only one former Assembly Democrat, Kevin McCarty (D-Sacramento), failing to achieve a perfect score. This near-unanimous Democratic support underscores a party-wide commitment to abortion and gender-transition advocacy.
CFC believes every life is sacred, from conception to natural death. Planned Parenthood, on the other hand, profits from the brutal destruction of unborn children, with abortions accounting for over 383,000 of their services in a single year. As documented by the National Review, abortions in the United States are now the fourth leading cause of death—higher than diabetes, drug overdoses, or kidney disease. Planned Parenthood continues to lead this charge, advocating for the killing of the most vulnerable while ignoring the profound physical, emotional, and spiritual damage caused to women and families. Their agenda extends even further, promoting the sterilization of gender-confused minors through cross-sex hormones and surgeries that cause irreversible harm.
Exposing Planned Parenthood’s Bloody Business
Planned Parenthood portrays itself as a champion of “healthcare,” yet it operates as the nation’s largest abortion provider, with procedures comprising a significant percentage of its revenue. Despite claiming to support women’s health, the organization focuses more on ending lives than saving them. Beyond abortion, Planned Parenthood’s advocacy for transgender “healthcare” has grown into a profitable industry. They promote the use of cross-sex hormones and irreversible surgeries for gender-confused individuals, including minors, despite the absence of long-term evidence supporting the safety or efficacy of these treatments. This agenda, rooted in profit and LGBTQ ideology, comes at the expense of families, children, and society’s moral fabric.
Planned Parenthood’s Grim Vision for California
Planned Parenthood thrives on the narrative of “choice” while perpetuating a culture of death. They profit off the destruction of life, rejecting the God-given dignity of every person and dismissing the countless families and women who suffer from the aftermath of abortion and sterilizing treatments. CFC stands in direct opposition to this vision, affirming the sanctity of life and liberty for all—born and unborn.
