Policies that allow students to use whichever sex-specific bathroom or locker room that matches their “gender identity” are not only an irrational denial of reality, but they are unsafe and easily abused. One recent incident in a California school proves this to be true.
Last week, a California high school student confronted her school board for allegedly allowing a violent male who “identifies” as transgender to use the women’s bathrooms and locker rooms at Martin Luther King High School in Riverside. The boy was accused of exposing his genitals to girls in the locker room and spitting on them. He can also be seen physically fighting a girl in a video posted to social media.
Megan Simpkins, a senior at the school, didn’t hold back when speaking to the school board.
“Hello, ladies and gentlemen, and only ladies and gentlemen it is and shall always be,” she said. “I am an 18-year-old high school student and wanted to take this time to bring to your attention the current issue with biological men claiming they are women and in turn, truly believing that they are entitled to use women’s spaces.”
“There was an incident within our district that occurred recently regarding a transgender woman — who really is a biological man — having an altercation with a young woman at MLK High School,” she continued. “It was infuriating when I had seen the video on social media, but what was detrimental to this is the fact that this man is, and has been using, the women’s restroom and locker room.”
“Of course, any male who claims he is a woman will accept it, but what about the women? What about the true girls like myself who are females down to our DNA? Why don’t we ever get a say in whether or not we are comfortable with this?” she asked.
“The truth is we aren’t, the majority of us aren’t, and yet nothing has been done to protect the safety of these women.
She went on to ask the school board why they are “affirming the mental confusion of this boy and putting the safety of women in jeopardy by allowing mentally confused men to use the women’s spaces.”
Megan concluded her speech by imploring the school board to change course and protect female students from similar situations.
Other students at Martin Luther King High School told Fox News that the male student frequently used the girls’ restrooms and locker rooms, and that he has a history of violent behavior.
Since the incident, the male student has been expelled from the school, but it is unclear what the school plans to do in regard to bathroom policies moving forward.
If schools continue to affirm the lies of transgenderism and allow male students to invade female spaces, incidents such as this will only become more common.
The purpose of sex-segregated restrooms and locker rooms is to protect the privacy and safety of students. If males can use female bathrooms by simply declaring themselves female, there is no point in separating men and women’s restrooms at all.
This is what inevitably happens when school policies are rooted in ideology rather than reality. No student should fear sexual harassment or violations of privacy when using bathrooms or locker rooms at school.
