On Tuesday, December 6, Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) was the target of a bomb threat. Police searched his home and did not find any explosives.
In response to these reports, California Family Council (CFC) issued the following statement from President Jonathan Keller:
“CFC strongly condemns all threats of violence against Senator Wiener, and all others attacked for the views they support. Such tactics are never acceptable.
Individuals should be free to express their beliefs without fearing for their lives. While we fundamentally disagree with Senator Wiener on many political issues, no American should face violence or intimidation over their viewpoints.
We urge all Americans to condemn such actions and for law enforcement to investigate and prosecute the perpetrators accordingly.”
