After an early draft of the Dobbs Supreme Court case decision leaked last week, many on left doubled down and started spreading dangerous lies about abortion and the Supreme Court. Some even admitted that abortion does kill an innocent child, yet they are still for it.
Many Democrat leaders immediately vowed to protect abortion in California. Gov. Newsom, Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon, and Senate President Pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins released a statement vowing to pass “an amendment to enshrine the right to choose in our state constitution so that there is no doubt as to the right to abortion in this state.”
“We know we can’t trust the Supreme Court to protect reproductive rights, so California will build a firewall around this right in our state constitution,” the statement reads. “Women will remain protected here.”
Newsom and his colleagues continuously rely on the argument that abortion is a “right,” but this could not be further from the truth. Rights are not granted by the government. They are not determined by public opinion, and they certainly do not include harming another person. Human rights come from God alone, and the only right involved in an abortion is a baby’s right to life.
Meanwhile, the L.A. County Board of Supervisors will vote on a resolution today supporting state Senate Bill 1245 making its way through the legislature. This bill would make L.A. County a “safe haven” for women seeking abortions and “reproductive care, by” establishing a “reproductive health-care pilot project in the county to support innovated approaches and patient-centered collaborations to safeguard patient access to abortions, regardless of residency.”
The bill deems abortion “healthcare,” as many on the left do. In reality, abortion is the exact opposite of healthcare. It ends one life and harms another.
Another deeply flawed and disingenuous argument came from L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti, who, along with other Democrat colleagues, condemned the potential overturning of Roe v. Wade for infringing on women’s “bodily autonomy” or “reproductive freedom.”
In the vast majority of pregnancies that end with abortion, both mother and father choose to have sex out of their own free will. They are choosing to engage in an act that is intrinsically reproductive. Consent to sex is consent to the possibility of becoming pregnant. Once a new life is formed, it is no longer just about the parents. The issue of abortion has nothing to do with “bodily autonomy” or “reproductive freedom” and everything to do with personal responsibility.
The words “right,” “healthcare,” and “reproductive freedom” are simply euphemisms used to deceive the public and conceal the truth about abortion. The truth is that women deserve better than to lose their children out of desperation, and every child has the God-given right to be born.
The most troubling reaction came from President Biden, who admitted that abortion does kill a child. “The idea that we’re going to make a judgment that is going to say that no one can make the judgment to choose to abort a child, based on a decision by the Supreme Court, I think goes way overboard,” Biden said.
Many other pro-abortion commentators on the left made similar statements, revealing that they know exactly what abortion entails. The left no longer cares whether the child is still in the womb or not, which is why California Democrats, so far, are all voting for a bill making its way through the legislature that essentially legalizes infanticide.
It is no longer enough to convince the left that babies in the womb are fully human. Now, pro-lifers must share the truth that morality is not subjective and natural law says that murder of innocent life is always wrong.
America is experiencing the consequences of removing God, the only source of objective morality, from the conversation. The only antidote to the left’s lies and moral depravity is the truth of God, who knew each of us before He formed us in the womb (Jeremiah 1:5).
