California has been in the national news cycle the last few weeks…and not for any good reason.
Two weeks ago, the Newport Mesa School District launched an investigation after a radical pro-LGBT teacher posted a TikTok video of herself, bragging about encouraging her students to pledge allegiance to the gay pride flag. Pitzen, the teacher, originally posted about the incident on her own TikTok page, and was eventually exposed by an increasingly popular Twitter account called “Libs of TikTok.”
In that video, Pitzen explains that she gave her students a choice during morning announcements of whether they chose to stand or sit during the Pledge of Allegiance and whether they chose to recite it or remain silent: “Stand if you feel like it, don’t stand if you feel like it. Say the words if you want, you don’t have to say the words,” she explained. “So my class decided to stand but not say the words. Totally fine.” She followed that up, however, by acknowledging that her classroom no longer includes an American flag; she removed it during the pandemic because it made her “uncomfortable.” This led to her encouragement that students who did wish to recite the Pledge instead do so toward the gay pride flag that was still hanging in the classroom.
Thankfully, after the deserved outrage from parents at Back Bay High School and the investigation, the teacher was removed. Incredibly, patriots from the community responded to the incident by decorating the school campus with a plethora of American flags.
Just as that investigation was wrapping up, Project Veritas released an undercover video exposing Sacramento high school teacher Gabriel Gipe arrogantly detailing his efforts to indoctrinate his students with radical, pro-Antifa material. Gipe even had a poster of notorious Communist mass-murderer Mao Zedong in his classroom.
“I have 180 days to turn them into revolutionaries…scare the f–k out of them,” Gipe said in the undercover video. He also gave students extra credit for attending Antifa events with the local chapter in Sacramento. When a student anonymously complained to Gipe about the Antifa flag in the classroom, he publicly shamed the entire class.
“…I addressed it to everyone because I didn’t know who it was. ‘Well, this is meant to make fascists feel uncomfortable, so if you feel uncomfortable, I don’t really know what to tell you. Maybe you shouldn’t be aligning with the values that [the Antifa flag] is antithetical to.’”
Again, thankfully, after an extraordinary amount of public outrage, Gipe is going to be fired.
It seems California parents are in a constant fight with the public education system.
On September 3rd, the Thomas More Society filed a lawsuit against the California Department of Education on behalf of California parents and taxpayers in an attempt to remove prayers and chants to Aztec gods from the curriculum. These chants were often recited by the Aztecs during their rituals of human sacrifice.
This is what California taxpayers are funding: radical teachers that pledge allegiance to the gay pride flag and encourage Antifa radicalization along with a curriculum that instructs students to chant blood-ridden chants to pagan gods.
If there is any positive to all of this, it’s that parents are finally pushing back.
God’s Word says that parents have the ultimate and final responsibility for raising and training their children. Proverbs 22:6 tells parents to, “train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
So fighting back, standing up, and demanding schools stop teaching garbage is part of biblical parenting. Parents can’t wait for someone else to demand change. It’s their responsibility to take back their schools or find their kids a better alternative.
