A Planned Parenthood abortionist who became a household name several years ago for callously having lunch while talking about the most profitable ways of harvesting fetal tissue from abortion now appears to be caught up in yet another scandal.
Dr. Deborah Nucatola, appears to be doing unlicensed surgical abortions in Indiana, according to Tippecanoe County Right to Life leaders. Yesterday, Tippecanoe County Right to Life leaders stated that the organization has filed complaints with the Indiana Attorney General’s Office as well as the Indiana State Department of Health after uncovering discrepancies on two terminations of pregnancy documents from the state Department of Health. Lifenews has more:
The termination of pregnancy (TPRs) reports involve two abortions on March 5 at the Planned Parenthood in Lafayette. Both TPRs mark the abortion types as “Medical (Surgical) Suction Curettage.” The reports estimate the gestational age of the aborted babies at 11 weeks.
But, according to the pro-life organization, the Lafayette facility is only licensed to do drug-induced, or chemical, abortions. The facility website advertises drug-induced abortions up to 10 weeks; it does not advertise surgical abortions.
Also interesting, both reports include the signature of Dr. Deborah Nucatola and list her as the facility’s medical director. Nucatola was the abortionist exposed in the first undercover video that the Center for Medical Progress released in its extensive investigation of Planned Parenthood’s aborted baby body parts trade.
“Tippecanoe County Right to Life routinely reviews TPRs to ensure Planned Parenthood is following Indiana’s abortion procedure, licensing and reporting laws,” the pro-life organization said in a statement to Lifenews. “It first saw Nucatola’s name appear as the medical director in Lafayette in December 2019. Lifenews has more:
Kevin Niebrugge, a board member of the pro-life organization, said he filed complaints with state officials after reviewing the documents. He said they want to ensure that women’s health is protected in Indiana.
“If Planned Parenthood brought in a prominent abortion doctor to begin surgical abortion procedures in Lafayette, women’s health and safety is at serious risk,” Niebrugge said. “The Lafayette Planned Parenthood facility is not licensed to do surgical abortions, because their facility is not set-up to meet the physical building and safety standards required for surgical abortions.”
Niebrugge urged the state attorney general and health officials to quickly look into the reports.
“Until there is a thorough investigation, women’s health is at risk,” he said.
In 2015, Nucatola’s name came to national attention when David Daleiden and the Center for Medical Progress released an undercover video showing Planned Parenthood’s illegal sale of aborted baby parts.
At a business lunch meeting with CMP investigators David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, senior director of medical services for Planned Parenthood Federation of America, remarked over wine and salad: “We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part, I’m gonna basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact.”
The first video, featuring Dr. Nucatola, received over 1 million views on YouTube in the 24 hours after it was posted. Two days later, PPFA president and CEO Cecile Richards posted her own video apologizing for Nucatola’s “tone and statements,” and claiming the fetal body parts were used for “life-saving” research.
