Here are five reasons that abortion is a tragic occurrence and should be avoided.
Abortion is a tragic occurrence
Admittedly, the circumstances surrounding a pregnancy can be tragic. Sometimes the mother was raped. Other times the baby or the baby’s mother has been given a slight chance for survival if the pregnancy continues. However, while none of these scenarios might be preferable, abortion is likewise not an easy way out of any of these (or other) difficult scenarios. Abortion is itself a tragedy, not the solution to a tragic situation.
Abortion is murder
Science is very clear on this issue. Unborn baby humans are living, beautiful creations. Human life begins at conception, abortion at any stage ends a human life. Proponents of abortion would like for you to think an abortion is a routine medical operation. Abortion supporters use terms that are as emotionally detached as possible, like “fetus” instead of “baby” and “the pregnancy” instead of “unborn child.” Abortion is a gruesome procedure.
Even Joe Scarborough on MSNBC stated in March of 2018 that young Americans are pro life because of science.
“You are seeing poll numbers move on abortion for banning abortions after 20 weeks,” he said. “Why? Because for the past decade, younger Americans have been going in and they have been seeing 3-D imagery where they can look into the womb. If some activist said, ‘Your child is a lump,’ I must tell you, I’ve had four kids, I’ve never once had a doctor go to me, ‘we’ve got your lump, let me show you your lump, look at your lump’s profile.’ This is an example of science, technology changing that is going to change the politics of abortion. This is an issue that culturally is going to change. Americans, younger voters are going to become more conservative on abortion because they see their child very early on in the womb.”
Abortion Tears Apart a Human
In a Live action Video, former abortionist Dr. Anthony Levatino – who himself committed over 1,200 abortions – detailed what actually happens during an abortion:
The baby has a heartbeat, fingers, toes, arms, and legs, but its bones are still weak and fragile. The suction is then turned on, with a force ten to twenty times more powerful than your household vacuum cleaner. The baby is rapidly torn apart by the suction, and squeezed through this tubing down into the suction machine, followed by the placenta. The abortionist uses a curette to scrape the lining of the uterus. A curette is basically a long-handled, curved blade. Once the uterus is empty, the speculum is removed and the abortion is complete.
Abortion is Risky for Women
Abortion is unsafe. Period. Planned Parenthood refers to abortion on its website as a “safe, simple medical procedure,” and this is what they want you to believe. The reality is that there is no such thing as a safe abortion. An abortion is hardly safe for a mother, both in terms of medical safety, and mental trauma undergone. And abortion is certainly never safe for the baby being aborted.
Abortion Never Goes Away
No matter how hard a woman or family tries to erase the after-affects of an abortion. As mentioned above, abortion takes an innocent human life. Time, money, or possessions cannot erase the reality of what happens when an abortion takes place. It’s a decision that will have a lasting impact.
Every life has value because every person endowed by their Creator with life is created in the image of God. Being pro-life means being against abortion because of the belief that every life deserves to be respected regardless of circumstances because human life is created with an inherent sanctity and dignity. Being pro-life is more than just pro-birth; it’s pro-woman, pro-adoption, pro-child, pro-family, and pro-equality.
