Today, the Susan B. Anthony List announced that the former Governor of South Carolina, and Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley will headline their national Campaign for Life gala. The event will take place Monday, June 3 at the Andrew Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C.
During her tenure as Governor of South Carolina, Haley supported a variety of pro life legislation and acquired a reputation for being a strong advocate on behalf of the preborn. As the Governor of South Carolina, Haley signed the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act into law, and during her time as Ambassador to the United Nations, she championed the rights of preborn children and their mothers.
âWe are proud to honor our longtime friend, Nikki Haley, for her strong pro-life leadership,â said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser in a press release. âDuring her time as governor, Nikki signed landmark legislation to end brutal late-term abortions in South Carolina. President Trump then made a very wise decision in selecting her to serve as ambassador to the United Nations. In this role she was a fierce defender of unborn children and their mothers and of American interests in protecting the vulnerable. She stood up to the international abortion lobby and played a key role in advancing the Trump administrationâs pro-life priorities, resulting in historic gains for life on a global scale.â
Former U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley added:
âAt the United Nations, America is often in the minority when we stand up for our values, but we proudly stand strong for them anyway, because itâs the right thing to do. At home, the Susan B. Anthony List reminds us of the importance of staying true to our values, and no value is more sacred than the right to life. On late term abortions in particular, America is too often falling short of our own values.â
Previous speakers at the pro life gala have included President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, Gov. Mike Huckabee, House Speaker Paul Ryan, and Senator Marco Rubio.
