Justice Anthony Kennedy Rumored to Retire This Summer

There are reports that pro abortion Justice Anthony Kennedy is planning to retire this summer, which could prove to be a pivotal point for the pro life movement.

Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973, and since then, pro life individuals across the United States have hoped, prayed, and worked to overturn that decision which has resulted in the deaths of over 60,000,000 preborn babies.

Sadly, Justice Anthony Kennedy is one of those votes on the Supreme Court bench in favor of keeping this destructive decision on the books, but his retirement this summer could mean that for the first time since Roe v. Wade, that it could be overturned.

Justice Kennedy was appointed by a Republican President, so it was assumed that he would write decisions and opinions in favor of life, but he strayed from the Republican pro life position and sided with pro-abortion justices on cases involving abortion that have been heard by the Supreme Court. A perfect example is last summer when the court struck down a Texas abortion clinic regulations law. There have been a few cases where Justice Kennedy sided with the pro life movement, such as his decision to uphold the partial-birth abortion ban in 2007.

According to Lifenews:

One Republican senator says he has it on good authority that Justice Kennedy will retire this summer. Since Kennedy was appointed by a Republican he likely wants a Republican to appoint his replacement– and with President Donald Trump in office, that would make that possible.

Several other liberal justices on the high court also are getting older. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is 84, and Justice Stephen Breyer is 78. Both are strongly pro-abortion, but there are no rumors of their retirement right now.

One of Trump’s famous and frequent campaign promises was to appoint pro life Justices to the Supreme Court.
